wanting a quick break sometime in Jan, 3-4 nights, leaving around the
    18th.

Don't want massively long flights (say 4 hours ish tops), but it needs
to be somewhere reasonably warm, stuff to do, good food etc.

Say, no more than 400 quid/head.

    Suggestions?

Sicily would fit the bill, subject to finding reasonably priced
flights. I loved Taormina, but it might bust the budget a bit.

Nothing north of Africa is going to be "reasonably warm" in the middle
    of January.

I'd suggest the Canaries, but even the south of Gran Canaria was a bit
chilly in mid March when I was last there.

    Cape Verde?

never mind. As is fucking typical, A. has changed her mind about the
"must be warm" requirement, and now wants to go fucking Rome.

    Give me strength.

I was reading about Morocco on the flight home yesterday. EasyJet fly
there, and seemed to be worth looking into more. The other place that
    caught my eye was Madiera.

I'm going to take a leaf from your book with regard to naming my next
girlfriend on ukrm. She shall also be known only by her first initial
i.e. G or J. That way when she's up the road she can join the rest, who
will collectively be known as X.

That's not what you want to know, is it?

Ultimately, I was boarding in Flims/Laax, Switzerland. Plenty of base,
but far too much sun. These high pressure weather systems really piss me
off. Still, not a single ding in my board, which is nice for this time of
    year.

Excellent outdoors heating facilities this season too, what with the burning
    churces and all.
Puts those French-bistro type patio heaters to shame.
