Holy Crap! The Helicopters were chasing me today!

I had to do a run over to Silverstone and back today so went
on the Hyper and did some cross country. Heading towards Ampthill
a fookin' hooge Chinook swopped across the road, only a few
hundred feet up! It was mahoosive! Initially I thought it was
the Queen's flight but the way it was pulling some turns
suggested otherwise. It disappeared behind the trees and then
reappeared a few miles up the road, doing some turns.
Awesome sight.

Along the M1 there was the plod chopper doing a few circles,
but that looked like one of those crap 70s things.

On the way home via Cambridge, an Apache flew overhead and
scared the pants off me. It too was only a couple of hundred
feet off the ground and only 1/4 of a mile in front as it
crossed over the M11. Evil looking fooker.

Should I be worried? Are they after me? I'm typing this from
under the desk. You ain't seen me, right?

 

That was probably on the A507 near Chicksands, Shefford. There's a UK
joint services intelligence unit at the old USAF base there.

Have you tried lining your helmet with aluminium foil?
Or maybe one of those chrome plated lids?

 

Not forgetting to earth it to the frame as well for the full Faraday cage
effect.

The old US forces living quarters have pretty much all been sold off,
but the base itself is still in use by the Brits. I know someone in R.
Sigs who was on an intelligence based course there not long ago and a
REME S/Sgt friend of mine who was stationed there until last year. It's
usually guarded by a mixture of Royal Marines, RAF Regt and Paras.
