I have been looking for a bike to replace my SR250 for fairly regular 200
mile round trips and this has come up on Ebay, Item number: 300186322624, a
Honda CB450DX. I am a bit dubious though as I can't find much info on the
model apart from a few lines on Wikipedia, neither can I find any reviews,
so I am assuming it is not a very common model. David Silver seems to have
most of the common parts for it which may be needed.

I also think I saw it listed a few weeks ago. Wether it didn't sell (which
should tell me something) or had a problem the buyer found after the sale
ended I don't know. Does anyone know anything about these bikes and is it
worth a ride up to take a look, or is it one to walk away from. My budget
is very limited, so my buying options are limited, hence my interest.

Thanks in avance for any advice.

About right, and just as shit as the original. It's a revamped 1970s
bike with no real redeeming features.

Buy something like a cheap Bandit because they last forever, if that's
the sort of bike you're looking for.

  4. I've owned one, briefly. I really wouldn't. They're torquey and comfy,
but they vibrate at high revs despite the balancer shaft, have soggy
handling, and are as dull as all hell. The engine is basically a Super
Dream 400 lump from 1978, hogged out another 50cc.

Not that fast, either. 95-100mph or so.

If you want a cheap basic twin, start looking at Suzuk GS500s.

Does anyone know anything about these bikes and is it
Three sensible no's, guess that answers my question.

    Can't afford a Bandit, much as I'd like to. TOG's GS500 suggestion is a
good possibility. Ah well, keep looking!

    Thanks guys.

I wouldn't say that, I've got two fucked late model GS500 engines in the
back of my garage. One has a knackered top-end, the other has a
knackered crank. One day I'll make one good one from the two and nige it
    out on fleabay.
