    Hi
    I need a silencer/muffler for a 1976 CB550F super sport. Anyone know where
to get one. Dave Silver, CMSNL, and Old Bikebarn are out of stock.

    Regards

  2. Jama used to do pattern replacements. OE - you'll have a job.

  3. It's not - that's an aftermarket unit for the early model, styled like
the CB500 Four, with 4-4 exhausts.

There is a jama on it. It looks ugly like an old MZ

  5. It looks nothing like it! If you're referring to the Jama link posted
earlier, anyway. And the link given earlier is for two separat end cans,
    like I said.
I've owned three CB550Fs and one CB550K. The Fs had a very odd tapen to
their cans: the diameter flared out and then narrowed. The K had a 4-4
system, resembling that fitted to the CB750K7.

You simply can't get decent replica cans for the Fs any more - Jama do
one that'll fit, but it looks different. I know, because I had to buy
one for my last F, only a few years ago.

  6. Ah, yes, right.

Yes, that's what I had on mine.

    They have.

It fits, perfectly, but it doesn't resemble the original. The shape's
    different.

Since we're on the subject of 550s, does anyone know where to get rear
wheel cush rubbers for a US 77 550F?

  8. If Dave Silver can't help, then no, except to wait for a wreck to appear
on eBay and nick the rubbers.

Actually, my neighbour's got a dead CB550 he might just give away - or
    flog for a pittance, anyway.
