    Hello:
I have a completly mint 1993 Nighthawk cb750 which is completely stock.
    no modifications.
    or it will not move).

I am completely aware of how to tune the carbs and have all the tools
    etc.
what I am asking is does someone , who has one of these bikes ( 92 to
2002) , I believe they are all lean burn set !,
do you know what the best jet setup for "driveablity" for the main
    jets?
    cooler running, longevity, etc.
Or should I just throw in a Dynojet level one kit. ( they dont say what
    size)

    Best sizes for :
    idle jet ?
    main jet ?
    clip position?
needle shim washers , size and count?

Thanks from anyone ,who has done this before and has the tune data.

Code: posdmr , carb, tune, jets, jtgh, 93
Facts: stock, perfect condition, 9k miles, new plugs, oil, filters, clean
    gas.

  2. Yeah, right. Nice try, but *wrong* answer. You wouldn't be talking
about main jets or needles if you were "completely aware of how to tune
    the carbs"...
Well, why don't you post your query to a list that specializes in 1993
CB-750's, preferrably CB-750's that are the same *color* as yours?
You're sure to find somebody as dumb about carbs as you are...
jets? cooler running, longevity, etc. Or should I just throw in a
Dynojet level one kit. ( they dont say what size)

Jet kits are for competition, the manufacturers sell a whole shitpot of
jet kits to people who know nothing when they started and know almost
nothing more when they were done...
    washers , size and count?

None of the above need to be touched for what you're trying to do. Do
your *homework* before you start spinning wrenches...
Another guy looking for a magical solution by parts swapping. He wants
the magic numbers, the encantation, the magic wand, but *doesn't know
how his carbs work* or what the EPA tests for when they
    check for exhaust emissions
Quit wasting your time watching Comedy Central and edumacate yerself
before you waste your time and money on a useless jet kit...

Before replacing anything I would remove the float bowls and clean all
the jets. Be sure to remove the low speed mixture screw and low speed
jet and clean the passage. If you have not done this before you should,
at the very least, get a service manual. In my experience most of this
model can be helped a lot by cleaning.

    Just gummed , idle jets.
    BTW:
    http://www.nighthawk750.com/
has a nice article on needle shims (half step washers).

    NightHawk:
I can drive off with the choke (enrichener circuit engaged for the
    purest)
engaged. Before , had to warm up for 1/2 hour.

Next I found my Virago xv920j is always too rich , black sooting the
    plugs.
did full carb clean and found that some person , set both floats 0.2
    inches Too high.
..62 is stock and .40 was what I found. (both sides).

corrected ( and did the Carb Sync) and the bike is like a new bike,
    perfect plugs now
    no back fire on de-acceration
and the enrichener is not radical anymore. ( instant flood pump)
This bike runs like a new bike (1982 , 11k miles).

All my bikes get (empty) gas , and fill with fresh in November then run

at least every month ( parked in Garage) and driving every Feburary.
I never have jet problems not caused by others. " Stabil user"

    NH750-93,xv920j,CB750k6,CL77-66, BMW-R100S(mint), XT200,TT125,YZ250,
    CT70 for kids

I run Delo 400 oil in everything, now.
( well not the YZ, of course)

I wonder, which gas is more stable, with our with out corn alcohol.

    hope I help someone.
