    From British Dealer
Honda have admitted that it is reducing its promotional and racing
involvemnt in the Isle of Man TT festival for 2008, although the company
says it will probably be making a bigger effort in the following year.
Honda Day on Mad Sunday, which has been held in Peel for the past few
years, will not take place, there may be an issue over the brand's
traditional supply of motorcycles for travelling marshals and there will
be no official Honda race team.

I'll bet John McGuinness is spitting feathers.

I can't see how the above would make him particularly thirsty.

Just to remind you that it's 30 years since Mike Hailwood's
return victory and Ducati have just launched a new model.

Do it, you're good enough and you'll only regret it if you don't.

But finishing 50th in the TT, compared with a probable top 5 in the
Manx, which wouldn't then rule out a TT the next year, is not as
simple a choice as all that...

If I was as good as Champ I would do it, it's one of those things to do
before you die. I and probably the rest of this group would chuffed to bits
    if he did it..

But he has already raced on the Mountain circuit. The TT centenary was a
special year and I can see why Champ particularly wanted to ride last
    year.

I'm glad I did the Ramsey 5000 hill climb in 96 and 97, and the 'parade'
over the mountain with the VMCC during Manx week 2005 was an experience
not to be missed. 10 more tears and theoretically I can ride one of the
GFRs or the Nordwest in the parade.

I suppose there is more kudos in having your name in the annals of TT
history though, whatever the lap time. Tempus fugit - is there an upper
    age limit for TT entrants?

It's easy to sit here and state what I would or wouldn't do if I was
in his position but there's a lot to be said for racing with your
mates and potentially getting a very good finish rather than working
your arse off in the hope of getting a replica.

I often think that the choice would be easier if the GP was earlier
than the TT and then if you were going well and felt good you could
enter the TT on the back of your GP results (£££££) but instead you
have to commit earlier and rely on early season short circuit racing
to get your head ready for the TT.

    Fuckitt, where's my PS2?

Pah, I could sort of manage that, I'd aim for 19 mins and end up dead.

Has Slick got a 1000 you could use? Or more to the point, can he/you
    source a decent one?

  19. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Champ
You are aware that owning this would remove excuses 1 through 652(b) in
the Racers' Big Book Of Excuses?

And it's RNM at the moment, of course.
