Where has this gone I used to be a member years ago and very
occasionally check in to thier website, but it seems to have
disappeared, as the only contact seems to be Graham Gull has the club
gone belly up or something? I notice there are a lot of one model Honda
clubs around now is that the way it is these days.

The HOC was alive and well last time I looked.

Stritchy of this parish will doubtless be along shortly with the full
    SP.
Meanwhile you could slip a signature separator in above your .sig,
just to make life easier for the rest of us.

Well that's the first time I have been asked that since 1996 when
records go back on Google blimey what the heck is a signature
    separator, unless it's a line?

Phil emerged from their own little world to say
I used to be a member too. I was involved in setting up a new branch for
Gloucester and was the 1st branch sec. in the mid 1990s. The club sort of
peaked in 1998 when they had a good relationship with HUK. The test ride
weekends in the Cotswolds were excellent ideas. Sadly, Honda only released
their bikes for two events and formed HUKRC which was a monumental flop.

I lost touch with HOC when I moved in 2002. By this time very few people
were active in the Glos. branch. I suspect this was being mirrored across
the country as bike ownership increased and the web made it much easier for
people to form single model groups without any formal structure.

    Paging Stritchy aka Big Ed

http://www.hoc.org.uk/ does seem to be dead

You've not posted to uk.r.m. before then ;-)
It is a series of characters that indicate to a newsreader that the
separator (or delimiter) and anything below it be removed from a reply
as it is not required, existing only to identify the original poster.
It takes the form of <dashdashspacereturn> and you will find an
example above my .sig and that of any of the regulars here that have
been posting for more than five minutes.

    FFS rip this thing out:
It may well be working, but there's another one below which is
automagically snipped, therefore leaving this one.

I think I had better ask me question, get an answer and piss off before
I offend somebody else sensibilities. Frigging heck is'nt life getting
complicated enough without more email police!

Thanks for wessie's input in that case you will know Big Jim, last met
in Malborough about eighteen months ago.

Well, yes. I like it, but Bear and the Gravity users won't. Agent
strips it but as there's no space before the return it won't work in
strictly conforming newsreaders. But hey - you're in Bear's killfile
so it shouldn't be an issue ;-)
