Honda Replacement Key

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by The Retired Punk, Nov 20, 2007.

  1. My son has just dropped his (only) key for his Honda NSR125 down a
drain and it is unreachable. We obviously have the V5 etc - but no key
number - does this mean a complete new barrel?

thanks for any help and advice

Does the bike have an immobiliser transponder in the key? If so, then you
will need to contact a Honda dealer.

If not then you might be able to get a key made by a locksmith. If
possible, remove the complete helmet/seat lock assembly. Take this to the
locksmith and see if they can make a suitable key.

.... and if at all possible, engage the services of an automotive
locksmith - they're usually better at this sort of work.

Son onna string, shirley? Dangle him down the drain upside down until he
    finds it.

If it's a HISS key, and the only one available, I'd be stripped off
and down there myself before the fucker gets washed away. Actually, I
wouldn't - I'd talk/bribe/threaten/buy beer for some other fucker to
get in there for me, but that's the way it goes. You know what I
    mean.

  7. For an NSR125? Wouldn't a paperclip unlock it?

    Pretty much.
There's no HISS on an NSR, least, there wasn't on my lad's.

I wouldn't want to be passing by when a naked Pip comes back up out of
the drain covered in whatever was down there.

I've never seen you and it's a scary image.

I've met him, but it doesn't make the image any better. In fact, just the
    opposite.
