Well, seeing how the_V1000R_doesn't exist, chances are they're
    completely trouble-free.

The VF1000R, on the other hand, being a 20-year-old model, take your
pick. It could just be weatherbeaten and ugly, or it could need a
    complete engine and suspension rebuild.

OK...CAMSHAFTS....I had 2 sets in mine when it was new ...I have not
ridden mine for 12 years, but, its not for sale at 18,000 KM.

I am going to drop engine out this year for check over, as it had some
vibration in it, that HONDA didnt want to know about, and I got sick of
    the bike and parked it.

Now, I will rebuild brakes..all parts available from HONDA either in
stock OZ or 3 weeks Japan.

Also have TOP END oil kit to get the oil up the top end faster...

New tyres before I get it going .....MICHELIN have sizes to suit .

Picked up 2nd hand exhaust from 1985 model in USA which had done 3,500
    miles and its like new.

Because I parked it and didnt drain fuel, tank full of crap....Obtained
NEW 1985 model tank off eBay in USA.

Just little bits and pieces and it will look like new
again.........Thats because I owned it from new .

Braided line of course...put mine on 20 year ago, and they improve
    brakes 100%.
Check out the VF1000R group on YAHOO.....Lots of information from
    there

  10. I've owned two of them over the years, one brand new in 1984 and one
    about 10 years ago.

Never had any problems with either of them.

The first one I put about 60,000km on before a nice dickhead ran into
the back of me and wrote it off.

The second one had about 50,000km on it when I sold it and I saw it on
the last Toy Run still running but looking somewhat weatherbeaten.

  11. Hmmm, how much did that cost to get shipped here? Any hassles?
