Pretty good, actually. Very clean, very tidy. It's got a "lazy" tacho needle, something I've come across before. Maybe it'll free up, maybe not. Yes, there is a very small amount of top end noise. Could be tappets, could be cams or chain. It's very minor, though, so I'll check the valve clearances and if it doesn't go away, I'm not worried, given the price. Didn't have enough room to bring all the spares back with me, so I've got to make a second journey to bring up the rolling chassis, spare engines, etc. I'll play with it for a few weeks/months and then move it on. I've always wanted to have a play with a VF500.
