Anyone put these to the test yet, so to speak?

    Yes... seen that.

Looking at the customer comments, there appears to be a trend for 'I
bought these jeans this week, and now I've fallen off my bike'.

Just wondered if anyone here had actually put the strength claims to
    the test.

Happily not so far, but I find them comfortable to ride in (without the
knee armour, it digs in after a few days, Jean's happy with hers)

I have a pair of Red Route biking jeans, I swopped the armour for the
Gericke Hiprotec Sport stuff which made them infinitely more
comfortable to wear both on and off the bike.

If I'm concerned I can always take my HG inserts out and use them :)
