    Hi folks.

A friend of mine has a Ducati 696, which she dearly loves, except for
the exhaust cooking her thighs, when she is stuck in slow moving traffic.

I've been thinking about various options, but don't know anything about
how the Ducati ECU controls fueling.

For instance, on the Triumph Striple, if you change the exhaust system,
you can, with TuneBoy and a dyno, reprogram the ECU, but I don't know
how you'd do the same job on a Ducati ECU.

It sounds like, with Ducatis, you buy the Termi exhaust and get a
    replacement chip.

There appears to be replacement after market carbon fibre heat shields
for her model of Duc, which I suppose might do something.

Anyone had any experience with that kind of thing?

    regards,

Why not use exhaust wrap, or have the pipes ceramic lined (High Performance
Coatings) both would cool the stock pipes.
