Get the little arrows to mark read text in the New Windows Mail Reader?

I had this once before, and got a serious lashing for sending annoying
replies to threads. Since Windows live mail has just updates itself I can't
find feck all on the bloody thing.
Now, being a pikey I don't want any other software as I actually like what
it does in general. I do believe that someone pointed me to a little applet
    that sorted this issue out.
The reply threads have no leading arrows put in on the OP.

    Ah, quote indents.
Having just been forced to decipher one of your replies down there \/\/
I think sorting it out should be a priority. There's a surprise, eh?
There's no pikeyness involved: just functioning software. There's
plenty of free, dedicated newsreaders out there: I'm currently using
Xananews as a lot of people do - or there's Gravity, or Xnews - the
list goes on. Much easier (IMHO) to use something that just works (a
bit like Windows) rather than something you have to hack about just to
perform acceptably (like Linux or an MGB).
Dunno if Quotefix is up to modern stuff like livemail.

Aah, it was quote fix that I was thinking off, and you're right, it doesn't
work in this new messed up WLM!

I'll have a look at the suggestions made again and see what I like best. I
    didn't thunderbird last time I looked/tried and I think that I didn't like
Xananews but can't be sure now so will have a look at your suggestions.

    Thanks.
