How much hp?

Just had the Ninja dyno'd for what I thought was a fuel problem. They
changed the jets but the problem I went in for is still there. The problem
is very hard to describe so I won't bother here. I need to get someone who
knows bikes to ride it for me and tell me whats wrong.

Drifting back to the reason for the post. I've got a pretty graph from the
dyno machine, but I've got nothing to compare it to so I don't know if its
    any good.

How much horsepower should my engine be producing?

  4. Nah, a bit more than that I'd guess - I've seen a bone stock '2000 ZX6R
put out 99hp on a dyno... (I suspect that dyno is a little optomistic,
    but not _that_ bad, a yoshi-piped jet-kitted ignition-advanced 2000 R6
scored 101hp on the same day).

It says 90.6 STD HP. I had a bit of a google but I don't know anything about
the different types of HP ratings, thats just what it says on the WinPEP
    chart.

I don't have much interest in the number itself, just a comparison with
similar bikes. Remember mine is a 95 model.

  6. For a standard ZX6-F, that's a bit on the low side, but borderline for just
a pessimistically-calibrated dyno, overinflated rear tyre, shagged or
    overly-shiny chain...

Does the bike have a race muffler?
How clean is the air filter?
    How fresh are the sparkplugs?
Is the power curve, such as it is, reasonably straight, or are there dips
    and jumps in it?
If the former, did the dyno operator at any stage get on the PC attached to
the dyno a set a control labelled "Smoothing" to equal "10,000"?

A ZX6 should be fairly linear, with one step-up in the curve at around
6000rpm and another, smaller one, at around 9000rpm. Peak power should be
around 12,500rpm. Is yours anything like that?

One thing about dynos is that they're only good as a comparison against
other readings form the same dyno. 90hp on one dyno may not equate to 90hp
    on another dyno.

My stock standard '93 ZZR600 got 93bhp at the rear wheel in '94.

Ok. Firstly I presume (after googling) a ZX6F refers to the 95-97 series.

It has an aftermarket muffler, but it has no markings on it. Pic of it on
the webpage. The mechanic suggested it looks like a standard muffler with
    different internals.

I've seen the air filter, its clean and 2 separate bike shops have said that
    it is.

Spark plugs are 3 weeks old.

The mechanic made great statements about how they know this particular bike
very well, and they dyno'd it in January. On the chart they gave me it shows
the run in January and the best run today. The shapes of the two graphs are
the same. The line is pretty wiggly between 4 and 8K, and rises smoothly
until 10K, where it flattens out and drops off at 12.5K. The flat area
between 11 and 12.5K has wiggles similar to the ones 4-8K. The graph today
is 7 HP higher than January. If you want to email me a fax number offgroup I
can fax it tomorrow if you want to see.

The bike was in there all day, and I didn't watch all this happen so I don't
know what they did and no I don't know if they dodgeyd up the reading from
January to make today's look like it wasn't a waste of time.

Of course it was a complete waste of time and money. They wasted a whole day
on it and couldn't find the fault. What they did discover on the dyno is
that my chain has a tight spot. Surprised they didn't find this during the
major service 3 weeks ago? I'm not.

Your tight-spotted chain might explain the high-rpm wiggles in the printout.
