It's time to renew the insurance on my little GS500E, previously it was with
Aunty Carole. The renewal quote came in at £155 FC with a £200 excess. I
called them and they couldn't do much about it.

I decided to give Bennett's a call but didn't hold out much hope because
their quote for the 10R+Gixxer750 was almost twice as anyone else.

After the usual questions the operator said she got a good quote but there's
a £150 excess. She then told me how much the insurance would be and I said
"How Much". She said she couldn't do any better. So I ended up paying the
    £39.

This insurance game is a bit silly.

ok looks like I mis-read it all then.

It read to me that you managed to get the deal from Bennetts for £39, I
thought Nige was complaining that Bennetts were expensive, then he said,
no he was agreeing the prices were all over the shop, and then you said
    scratches head and and and.....

Oh well, it is Friday afternoon after all.

    As you were.

My renewal from CN was at £145. I contacted Bennetts and was quoted £45. To
match the legal recovery cost and full breakdown recovery of CN, Bennetts
    ended up at £135.

Were you looking at like for like?

No, CN had a higher excess.
