Well, according the link posted, they did sew people together, so
there's certainly some areas in which it bears comparison.

 

Without checking the link, Mengele was supposed to have cojoined twins
to see if one heart etc would keep both alive....

 

That's not the half of it. He also did things like chopping off limbs and
sewing them back on, the wrong way round, etc. Or maybe that was the Japanese.
