If an innocent biker, just out to get some lunch, were to encounter a marked
up camera van while said biker was, say, nudging 80 in a 60 limit might said
van operator make a note of the bike's reg as it went past and might such
evidence stand up in court, if there was no photograph showing the reg
number, it being a front facing camera and all that?

Or might the operator prefer to sit on their fat lazy arse and get the next
half dozen cars round the bend instead?

When this, hypothetically, happened to a biker on the M42 who might
have been doing 75 in a temp 50, he got a hypothetical 3 points and 60
quid fine in the post a couple of weeks later.

    Arse.

Did the M42 biker both asking for photographic evidence, or did they just
bend over and take it like a man?

Dunno, but the innocent biker might want to consider getting a GPS with
the PocketGPSWorld speed camera database loaded.

So it tracks the vans as well, does it? Clever bit of kit, that.

Not 'tracks', but it does include the locations of anywhere they've
been spotted. So far it's been 100% accurate on the ones I already knew
    about.

The one in question was less than a mile from the innocent bikers house.

He may be innocent, but he's also a spaz.

Doesn't the value in a bit of kit such as that come when it tells you
about ones you don't know about?

I don't know about other areas but Northants have to state where
they'll be trapping on any given day and they only have a set number
    of possibilities.

Yes, in fact it's almost a guarantee.

    and might such
    Yes, no doubt whatsoever.

if there was no photograph showing the reg

Not as spazzy as my old uncle Bill. He's got a Gatso right outside the
lounge window of his flat and he's been snapped TWICE coming back from the
pub. Pissed as a fart both times.

I can think of several possible answers to that, many of which include
words such as 'duh!' & 'mong', but as I'm feeling charitable[1], I'll
    just say 'yes'.

[1] Kittens had their respective girly-bits/manly-bits sorted today, &
seeing them lollop around in a dazed state has made me all sympathetic.

With the standard of banter around here recently I'm never sure who's
taking the piss and who's just being dumb. I usually go for the latter.
It's much easier to play with someone elses and then hand it back when
    you're done.

In this case, the rider on the M42 knew full well that he'd been
speeding[1], and being an honest sort of chap took the hit.

[1] Because he deliberately rode through at 75 thinking "forward
    facing, can't get me"...

  17. Feegle had his done several weeks back[1] - vet said 'he'll be quiet
and withdrawn and won't want to eat'.

He came back home, beat up the dachshund (as usual), ate an enormous
meal (making up for the one he missed the night before and breakfast)
and then chased Kelda round the garden for an hour or two.

    He's a tough little[2] kitty.

    Phil.

[1] When we noticed that how he was grabbing Kelda was getting a little
more.. personal. Fortunately she's 3 months younger and not mature..
[2] I say little - but at 6 months old he is bigger than our 17-year
old. And still got outsized feet.
