Logical arguments don't often work if the target is state government
rules. :-(

The same would apply if I had a motorcycle-based trike here in Q. I
have to get a C licence to ride it (I can only do the bike test on a
two-wheel vehicle) but it's not a valid vehical on a NSW C licence so
I'd expect to get a NSW licence that DOES cover it.

I don't get the significance of a C licence.

Here in NSW, a motorcycle based trike requires a motorcycle licence, and,
you can only get a motorcycle licence on a regular motorcycle.

One logical argument which did, amazingly, work, was that older folk who
ride/drive trikes or sidecar rigs, when they reach 85, can now be tested
on their three wheeled vehicles. It isn't easy to organise, and the RTA
keep fairly quiet about it, but it can be done.
