I appear to be BMW-less, after the bloke from The Netherlands who won
the RT on ebay picked it up today. For some strange reason, all three
vehicles I've sold recently ended or will end up on the Continent.

Hopefully Lozzo will be able to sort out the lack of BMW by dropping
off the R100RS here on Thursday.

  2. It's not that strange, it's called "exchange rate".

3.2k. Looks like prices on these are more depressed than I thought.

And that's a _good_ thing, right?

After my last one (20 umpteen years ago,) I swore I'd never own
another. Any company so obstinately obtuse in their designs deserves
all the flak it gets. I mean, really - not one, but TWO fuel petcocks
into the late 80's? And you had to turn them both off or suffer fuel
leaks. Oh, and the sidestand guaranteed to let your bike fall over?
BMW's design foibles go on and on. I curse the brand.
But, true confession time. I now own one, though I haven't seen it
yet, so I'm just assuming it's a real Beemer. My friends give me crap
about going to the dark side, and rightfully so. I may repent later
    this summer. We'll see.

I've not been BMW-less since 1986. I can't even start to image how
    dreadful it might feel.

To my mind, the interesting bit about bikes heading abroad isn't so much
that the exchange rate makes bikes more appealing to the export market,
it's that the UK market doesn't seem to value the bikes as highly.

    Shouldn't last long, though.
Agreed. I think there's a fair bit of shiny new syndrome in the UK
vehicle market. It's probably one of the cheapest if not the cheapest
place in the EU for used cars, for starters.
