Never had an electrical fault on the bosch elec systems yet. This ain't no
750 with stupid ignition amplifiers you know. At 6'3" you could *just* get
    your feet on the deck.

He needs to move on. I'm sure he could train her to lie there staring at
the ceiling and groaning occasionally without alcohol.

Well after sitting on loads of bikes (admittedly sporty-ish bikes cause
I'll hanker after another 9R until I'm dead) the VStrom had the most
room on the ones I've tried, apart from my AT.
Never tried a Pan or that style of bike. Personally don't fancy them. I
do fancy a nice cruiser, feet forward pegs, massive sofa seat, straight
    through 3" twin pipes :)
Don't you find that after maybe 4~5 hours wearing one things just start
    hurting everywhere?

Try before you buy: not all cruisers are a good fit for the especially
    lanky.

Thanks for the advice. That could be a problem, since I either hate the
looks or love the looks of them.

Kwak VN1500s I like, a C2 model was on ebay but the interwebby told me
the C2 have problems engine wise, the seller didn't confirm that any
mods had been done so I left it.

I have a picture somewhere of Verdigris riding the Drifter. He can't turn
the bars properly because his knees are in the way...

LOL. I never imagined any cruiser would be *that* small, even though
Verdigris is on the large side :)
