I have a dilema (BOSM related)

As you know the BOSM is on April 9th, but this also happens to be my
    son's 18th birthday. I didn't realise he'd be having a proper party and
he presented me with an invite today for the same night as the BOSM.

I only have one son, he will only have one 18th birthday party and I
love my kids to bits and have tried to never let them down... so I
    won't be at the BOSM.

This means I'm in need of someone to oversee the dinner ticket thing on
Saturday night, any volunteers? This also means there's a room free, Mu
says 'first come first served' and call the pub after 12 tomorrow.

Daft sod. You chose the fecking date !
The DFV's lament, but understandable ...
I would, but looks like i'm getting there late, so unfortunately i'm
not best placed to oversee anything.

    Have a good 'un.

    Cheers,
    Paul.

I'll step up and stand in, mate. I want your bloody room, though.
Elly was surprisingly easily persuaded ;-)

I imagine it was the prospect of a decent night's sleep rather than
    any blandishments on your part.

Thanks buddy, I'll call Mu and sort that out for you.

In my defence, I didn't book this date, it was done by Adie last
September when I was away in Malta missing the EOSM. Adie wasn't to
know that Daniel's birthday is 9th April, nor did she know it would be
his 18th and tbh I didn't twig that the dates clashed until a little
    while ago.

Oh, yeah. I'll be kipping on the floor/corridor/anywhere out of
    earshot, I'd assume.

It was much appreciated and all with good intention I know, but I'm
    sorry I can't be there.

Never mind, 2012 BOSM should be a bit good if all goes to plan.

Similar problem- The Apprentice is 21 on the 10th and a party has been
arranged at home on the 9th.- Only offspring and he will only be 21
    once.

  15. Damn. I have a contact who has a contact with a man who runs a
fireworks wholesale business - including supplying Pro-grade stuff.

Unfortunately there's *no* way I'd even consider trying to bring any
over to blighty, as that would be asking for quite a lot of trouble.

  17. Heh. Unfortunately, the Dutch are a bit touchy about fireworks.
    Something to do with this:

I'm sure we could have a paypal whip-round closer to the time ..

I wonder if industrial grade mortar bombs will piss off the villagers
    more than naked wheelying ?

OK, OK. Don't get your goolies in a scrunch.

My favoured supplier does a deal, see, that involves ordering (and
paying, natch) about this time of year, and taking delivery (or
collecting) at the end of October. They'd then store for six months,
    I'd think.

Perhaps we should have a pint and a pore over the catalogue.
