    I have just phoned my sister (40's, 2 kids), to be greeted by the
    following message;
    "I'm sorry, my mum can't come to the phone right now, she's still riding
    the washing machine. Please leave a message after the tone..."

    Her son is in big trouble...

    heh.

    you've got to wonder how he thought he'd get away with it.

    She probably never phones her own phone when no one's in. At least he
    hopes.

    Update: I spoke to her this evening, carefully (I didn't want to drop
    him in it). She appears to have no knowledge of the message. I casually
    asked to speak to the bad boy (age 12) on the pretext of not having seen
    or spoken to him for a while, and apparently they have an answerphone
    that uses a single tape with the message at the beginning and the calls
    following that.
    He has his own tape that he swaps when the mood takes him.
    I told him he was very naughty and I'm taking him for a blast on the
    Sprint.

    It is more that he needs some guidance to get it right.
