In 1814, during the War of 1812, the mansion was set ablaze by the
British Army in the Burning of Washington, destroying the interior and
charring much of the exterior walls. Reconstruction began almost
immediately, and President James Monroe moved into the partially
reconstructed house in October 1817. Construction continued with the
addition of the South Portico in 1824 and the North in 1829. Due to
crowding within the executive mansion itself, President Theodore
Roosevelt had nearly all work offices relocated to the newly-
constructed West Wing in 1901. Eight years later, President William
Howard Taft expanded the West Wing and created the first Oval Office
which was eventually moved as the section was expanded. The third-
floor attic was converted to living quarters in 1927 by augmenting the
existing hip roof with long shed dormers. A newly constructed East
Wing was used as a reception area for social events; both new wings
were connected by Jefferson's colonnades. East Wing alterations were
completed in 1946 creating additional office space. By 1948, the
house's load-bearing exterior walls and internal wood beams were found
to be close to failure. Under Harry S. Truman, the interior rooms were
completely dismantled, resulting in the construction of a new internal
load-bearing steel framework and the reassembly of the interior rooms.

In 1814, during the War of 1812, the White House was set ablaze by
British troops[18] in retaliation for burning Upper Canada's
Parliament Buildings in the Battle of York; much of Washington was
affected by these fires as well. Only the exterior walls remained, and
they had to be torn down and mostly reconstructed due to weakening
from the fire and subsequent exposure to the elements, except for
    portions of the south wall.

See, you pussies couldn't even retaliate yourselves....what's wrong,
couldn't find your way across the border back then either?

It was actually Upper Canada you boys tried to invade, but who could
expect a bankrupt Texan to know that.

    Thank you!

There's nothing like an uneducated, welfare ridden, illegal alien,
piss stupid twat telling how chicken shit their own country is.

Canada didn't have a Navy. The British Navy is who burned the White
    House.

It's no different than when I was up there in that ragged country. You
stupid pussies would want to cry and whine, and I'd just punch you
    little fucks in the mouth....

You fucks can't even defend your country....gotta whine someone else
to go defend it for you. I could see you ragged bastards if some
terrorist knocked down your buildings....you fucks would want someone
to go "do something". We went into the camps of the terrorists,
captured and killed the fuckers, and still kicking their asses....just
    'cause.

    You're a pussy!

And that's your answer for everything isn't it Brian. People best you
almost at every turn and in every way and all you can do is threaten
to punch them in the mouth. lol The last resort of the financially and
    intellectually bankrupt.
There are more ways to defend one's country than by military force.
Canada has done quite well defending our country and our way of life,
since Confederation and when force is required we have stepped up to
the plate. I do not believe we have ever lost a war. Can you say the
    same?

Right now if I were you I would be more concerned with your economy
and dollar. Remember it was not military force that collapsed the
    Soviet Union, it was economics.
I think if you educate yourself to the facts you will find brave
Canadian soldiers fighting the terrorists along with your troops.

Of course admitting that would destroy your latest rant wouldn't it.
Did that make you feel better? You are too easily pleased, but then
again, taking the easy way out is not surprising coming from someone
who hides behind bankruptcy laws, when they **** up their personal
    finances is it?

Face it Brian, this Canadian is inside your head and any time I feel
like I can start rattling around in that massive void where
intelligence should reside and wind you up like the energizer bunny.

You're too easy and too predictable. <evil grin>

    Okay, you've said it enough.

The difference between bankruptcy and welfare is bankruptcy has the
person being responsible to pay back their debts. Welfare is where the
person has their neighbors paying the debts for them.

I'm out of bankruptcy and living a nice life, can you say the same
    about being off your welfare?

And I have never been on welfare, nor have I ever fucked up my
finances to the point I need protection from my creditors through
bankruptcy. Now that is true welfare.

You ring the bell twice. Congrats!

    Do you *honestly* believe this?

I simply post on here about Canadians and what welfare pussies they
are, and you come into a group where you obviously don't belong just
to post replies to me. I don't go searching you out, you read every
word of mine. You and Vicky both.

Who's in who's head rattling the other's void of intelligence?

Speaking of "intelligence", have you learned the difference between
    Great Britain and Canada yet?

Brian, you get online and start spouting off with disparaging remarks
about my country and fellow Canadians, all lies, and act like some
wounded innocent victim when you get it back. The only difference is
what I posted is the truth. Deny it if you can.

Anytime you want to engage in this type of a pissing contest just
remember with you as a target one will never run out of ammunition.
Your whole life reads like an endless episode of I Love Lucy. From the
temper tantrum when you couldn't get to the hotel printer, to the
comedic tale of trying to sell the bike on consignment, to the
decrepit fence, the copperhead and a dozen other events, you are one
    sitcom that never ends.

So carry on with the name calling. It's what you are good at. We are
all watching and waiting for the new season of "Life With Brian" to
    begin.

Both candidates are lacking much in numerous categories and both are
less than ideal selections, both will undoubtably be less than "good"
for our country, but, considering the pitiful numbers of knowledgable
voters participating in the process over the last six general
elections, we get what we deserve as a nation.

I grow increasingly more cynical about the ability of the folks in
Washington, D.C. to accomplish anything meaningful. It seems as if
our elected representatives are so entrenched in their personal
missions to “get mine” and to grab power that none of them are
representing the people of America in integirty and honor.

Thomas Jefferson said, “Every generation needs a new revolution.”

I think we have gone so far down the road of corruption in our federal
government that it is no longer salvageable through the democratic
    process our founding fathers envisioned.

An armed revolution in this country is not feasible or desired, but
what of an unarmed revolution, a revolution by vote? What do you
think the outcome might be if a goodly portion of eligible voters used
the power of the ballot box to toss out ALL incumbents, of both
parties? What would happen if the Washington elite were sent home, in
mass; all it’s career Senators and Representatives, all it’s power
brokers, all incumbent Democrats and Republicans?

35 Senate seats and all 435 House seats are up for election this
year. Can you imagine the excitement of seeing a large number of
incumbents sent home? Can you imagine a House with numerous positions
newly seated? It would be just like the first Congress and what a
“wake up” call to those left in position!!

Just once, can you imagine Libertarians and Constitutionalists being
elected to seats unopposed by one of the major parties. Can you
imagine a Congress filled with Americans who care more about the
nation than their own pockets; a multi-party Congress where everyone
had to work together to achieve legislation?

Do you think then we might get some folks working for us instead of
    for themselves?

Just say ,”NO!” to incumbents in 2008!

======I like what you said. You're right a bunch of ignorant, lazy ass
voters--put PBush in for a 2nd dern term, with the help of the high

We independents are the ones who never, never have a candidate for
president,WHO we actually WANT to ''vote'' for. More often ,than not, we
are forced to vote AGAINST one, never for one. Hopefully, the public
will not vote John Boring McKane in, for Bushes third term, wouldn that
    be something....hehe

A lot of people fall into the "I don't vote because my vote doesn't
matter" trap. And now that we have electronic voting, they may be correct.
The only people we would actually WANT to run the country aren't interested.
Why not? It may be the most effective course of action at this point.
But hey, I'm willing to try it your way first.
    but
Most likely we would still end up with a bunch of damned politicians.
I can imagine it, but I don't think it'll ever happen. This is, however,
why I tend to vote for a Republican president when we have a
Democratically controlled Congress, and vice versa. Not that you can
really tell the difference between the two any more.
