I mostly spot the lane changers

But not the one this morning.

I was happily tonking along in lane 3 (not even 2a), not that far away
from the car in front, when matey in lane 2 decides he wants to be in
the same place as me. In 0.001ms.

    Fark. Me.

I haven't been that scared in a long time.

Even when he was completely in lane 3 he didn't know I was there.
Somehow I managed to stay on in the tiny bit of tarmac I had left and
    slow down behind him.

I caught him back up, flipped up the Multitec[1][2] and *yelled* at him,
using mostly words that I have learnt from Nige. Pointed at his wing
mirror yada yada. He just smiled and shrugged. Git.

Later on in slower traffic I managed to have a few more words with him
(he at least kept the window down). I couldn't hear what he was saying
but I made it very clear my feelings on the matter.

I'm still wobbly from the adrenalin.

[1] Only had it a couple of weeks - it's brilliant. I was expecting it
to try to rip my head off at speed. but it's quite usable. Apart from
the problem this morning with the specs.

[2] Unfortunately I lost my specs as the wind took them

You should've been punching his window & kicking his door long before
    then.
And that's the point where you raise a leg & boot his wing mirror off.

To wake him up, & let him know you're there. He'd probably jump out of
his skin, which would make it a memorable experience for him, & just
/maybe/ encourage him to check next time.
I've no doubt some people think so. The fact he just 'smiled &
shrugged' makes him a total **** though imo. Had he wound his window
down & apologised, it'd be a completely different matter.

Or maybe he was embarrassed that he hadn't seen the bike and/or was
intimidated by the armoured-up bloke having a spack-attack at him
    through his open window.

Either way, criminal damage and an unnecessary insurance claim is hardly
    the answer.

  7. No - he's a badass biker bro - high on integrity and fraternal love for
fellow BBB's, low on IQ and personal hygiene.

    Why do you ask?

There wasn't time for anything really - this one caught me completely by
surprise. I should have been more aware - it was near the M25 exit and
there are often crazy lane changers there. I think in my mind I was
already past this one and didn't need to worry about him.
I think after the second yelling at him he may have got the point. He
did make a kind of childish 'yes boss' gesture at some point but I still
don't think he realised he could have very easily killed me.
Indeed - it could then easily end up as being all my fault.

hey look, kids - it's Captain Rational!

Generally, though, I agree with you entirely. I've knocked a wing-
mirror or two forward in frustration at this sort of thing, but only
ever actually damaged cars by accident.

hahah - presumably your prescription is fairly minor, so that you
could see your way for the rest of your journey?

He's got some seriously fucked up body language if that's the case.
It's /an/ answer, but yes, rarely the right one. Only once in nearly 3
decades for me, & well deserved at the time imo.

I am, of course, only trolling.

Obviously as a cager who's transgressed the unwritten law by
accidentally endangering a biker he should present his firstborn child
for ritual execution to the nearest HA or Outlaws chapter at the
    earliest opportunity.

Because we're all ruffty-tuffty bikers here, right? And the first
kneejerk overreaction is always the right one. Now show me your tiger
    face! Raaaaaaahr!
