I rock

  1. The little security screw fell out of my Garmin mount the other day.

Ten minutes with the lathe has a superior replacement made in brass.
    Rather lovely it is, too.

I shall field-test it on t'Island. Dodger? If it survives, do you want
    one?

It's got a simple knurled top so you don't have to **** about with the
    pointless "special" screwdriver.

I'm amazed mine hasn't, tbh. Of course, not using the Wing lately has
    helped.
Of course. I'd expect nothing less.
    No. [1]
And neither does the thief, presumably.

    Sounds fabbo.

[1] <pushes luck> I'd like two, please. One for each cradle.

Hah! It'd be a pretty pathetic tea-leaf that'd be defeated by that
screw. All he has to do is undo the thumbscrew on the mount and cut the
    cable and he's there.

I have slight concerns about the brass and its longevity. If it survives
the trip, I'll make a couple and post them to you. If it doesn't a Mk II
    shall be molished.

You not got a locky-uppy thumbscrew, then?

I do not. I just take the fucking GPS off when I leave the bike.

    Heh.

OK, what I'll do is see how this one survives. If it works out OK, I'll
put a posting up and any regular that wants one can have one.

It'll be a week or three.

You don't need the screw, it says so in the directions. And besides,
    this is fine German technology.

That's as fine a Teutonic sledgehammer as I've seen used on a nut in a

I was completely confused by what that was for a while, thinking it was
just a bar and trying to fit it into places.

Do you know how much the mounts are? £48 or so, worth nicking in itself.
