The new Wing has been visited by the chrome fairy.

You're not alone, Brotehr Dodger. I just tripped over a little bag of
Bandit (stainless) Bolt Bling that had been lost for years, so gave the
old beast a bit more sparkle in the yoke department.

Good for the soul, it is, a little bit of gentle, non-essential
    spannering.

Well, only a little one. Voltmeter (in a chrome panel).

The driving lamp fairy must have shoved her out of the way.

I need to bin a few bolts that are dull & shitty, always makes it look so
    much nicer.

Or, i might just grind them clean at silverstone :)

Rubbish. Bikes should be allowed to develop a patina to give the
    illusion of frequent useage.

I wasn't patient enough when I changed the lever after my crash in
France and ended up with a span adjuster that has to be ajusted with a
    screwdriver.

There's always something, and it is so often the tiny unsuspected thing.
Strikes me as less than competent, TBH. Useful bit of bloggery, mind -
I have one of them on the back burner, concerning back brake calipers.

Would you consider a couple of turns of PTFE tape?

Whenever I've tried mixing PTFE tape & brake fluid, it's not been
    pretty. The tape just dissolves.

    Meh!

I fucking detest brake fluid. Every time I have to work with it, I am
revolted by it. Considering it is such a vital component, WTF haven't
they come up with something that isn't so aggresive - to paint, for a
start. It rots gloves for a pastime, so there's no alternative to
getting it on fingers, then transferring it to vulnerable surfaces.
Even the feel of it is 'orrible - worse than anything else I routinely
come into contact with, just 'orrible.

    <gloom>

Check Krusty's response. Try lobbing a bit of tape in a bit of brake
fluid - go on, then let us have the definitive answer.

Apart from silicone DOT5 fluid, but that's a bugger to bleed, there's
always LHM. I'm with you on DOT3/4 brake fluid. Fucking horrible useless
    stuff. It's not just the paint-stripper, it's the moisture-absorption.
