As is fitting a set of braided lines in a draughty shed with a 1200w
ceramic heater. What's even suckier is discovering that the last banjo
bolt supplied (front master cylinder) is a fine pitch whereas all the
others supplied were coarse pitch. Thank **** MPS are open until 3 on
    a Sunday.

Arrrrrgh. You can't just post this kind of vehicular porn without a
    warning.

Oh well, I'm hoping that the next house will have a decent sized shed
(small aircraft hangar would be nice) and hopefully not a neighbourhood
association that sends the boys around if you keep your garage door open
for a little longer than strictly necessary or fire up a slightly
    under-silenced bike or car.

That's what I figured. My ideas of the Land of the Free and neighbours
that tell you when to rake the rock garden[1] don't quite gel.
Same here - only problem is finding such a place that's now so far from
civilisation that you can't get Internet access (and, erm, TV for the
other half) without massive satellite dishes and yet far enough away
from other people that the local kitty that keeps your property
rodent-free is of the pale brown & weighs 200 pounds variety.

Nevada's quite good for that sort of thing, the only issue being that
for the kind of commute Ann & me would be likely to look at, I'd need a
private pilot license. And given the winds over the Sierras, the commute
to work might be "accidentally" interrupted by one finding Steve
    Fosset's plane.

[1] Vegas - they're severely (and rightly) cutting back on the amount of
water you're allowed to use for gardening and actually "recommend"
    against lawns.
