Probably something to do with it being registered 20 years before it was
    built apparently.

    I think I may have the original WhichBike? road test in the loft;
compared with an XS250 US Custom and a GSX250 custom IIRC. Actually I
think it might have been a Cagiva 250 custom, but unless I'm much
mistaken, they were the same bike anyway.

  5. They were.

Petroil mix, appallingly crude piston-ported engine, lovely chassis,
    diabolical Italian ancillaries.

They actually handled very well and were reasonably quick in their day.

Downsides: Italian spaghetti electrics and the uncanny ability to run
backward nearly as fast as they could go forward. Oh, and all metal parts
    made of cheese.

    Yup, your right.

It means that you're going to have to stump up another £19 and probably
jump through half a dozen hoops to get the 'new' V5 because the previous
owner didn't apply for it / keep it when they changed them over.

Shawly when the seller sends his bit off, they'll send the buyer a new
    one?

AIUI, the old-style V5s are now invalid, and you have to buy one of the
new ones. And IIRC, it was the *buyer* who sent the change form off on
    the old ones.

    You need one of these:

No you don't. An old V5 can be converted to a new V5C FOC. It's done
on change of owner, or you can just send them off with a letter saying
'please replace this with a new V5C'. The V765 is only needed when
there is no V5 at all, but you have other documents - like a green VE60
    or buff RF60 log book.

The hardley ableson was described on eBlag as being maroon of shade.
Such a poor bike I thought that the colour should have been called
    moron.

I suppose you could visit the pound shops, beggars and ratburger vans in
    Kings Square...

The New Inn was ok, as was The Fountain. It's the most disappointing
cathedral town I have been to.
