I tried to find something wrong with it..

  1. Really I did but now it seems I'm the proud owner of this:

    It's really quite nippy.

I spent most of the time worrying about dropping it because of the
treacherous conditions out there but Summer's coming.

Shame it needs a clean already.

Nah, they're brand new. I don't know what they are but there's only
tread in the middle. They look good for going round corners fast in the
    dry and warm.

I dare say I'll need another set by the time the sun comes out.

    of wisdom:
All I could find wrong with it was a bit of heat insulation lifting up
at one corner in the bellypan, five of the *tiniest* stone chips on the
top of the rear shock and a couple of pin-head sized bits of black round
the rear light where someone's over-cleaned it.

Really, it's as close to mint as you can get, and I spent a long time
    looking!
Yeah, I've only been 140mph so far and that was on the motorway. It's
    just too damn slippy.
Cheeky ****, I'd had a bath at least one day before our paths last
crossed and I think when I met you in TW I'd had one that very morning,
    too.

That is really very nice, I could imagine owning that myself. In fact I have
the extra shed space for such a bike now too, if I did all I would need is a
200dB alarm to go with it so I'd hear it from the house.

You know, I've visited a few people over the weekend and I used that
bike to get there. All but one mentioned the ratted CBR and my Dad said
"If you do the same thing to that as you did to your other one, I'm
never going to talk to you again".

Do it. There are deals a go-go.
There's a big FOAD alarm on this one and I'm quite sure I'd have no
trouble hearing it from the house :) I'm also thinking of wiring a
    remote PIR under the cover.

It's far too clean, you can see reflections in it.

No shit. Wait until the roads are clean and dry then you'll really
    start laughing.
It's got crash bungs so why worry?
    Waste of time.

Mind you it has been fun recently on the GS. I suspect it must be quite
nasty on a bike were you are used to torque and grip as the norm but
that is an experience I have never had so I have fun instead.

I could never own anything clean and shiny like that.

I almost enjoyed myself on it today, when there was more than a mile of
    dry tarmac.

Damn that fucking black stuff that doesn't dry out as quickly as
    proper...
Look, we both know, deep down that they won't stop damage. Limit it,
    yes, but eliminate it? No.
I agree but familiarity hasn't bred contempt yet.

    They go some.
If you worry about riding something you shouldn't be riding it.
Why bother, it will only get dirty again.
