Gavsta fumbled, fiddled and fingered: http://www.jonesbootmaker.com in particular http://www.jonesbootmaker.com/ebusi...cid=87&brc=&red=product_list.jsp?id=87,mid=-1, I've found Jones shoes excellent, take a while to break in but after that they're fantastically comfortable -- Steve Parry K100RS SE & F650 and a 520i SE Touring for comfort (not forgetting the SK90PY) http://www.gwynfryn.co.uk
in message From my observations of this group, Mr Bear and Mr Auvache seem to have gained a certain reputation ... err, sorry, as you were I just noticed the 'b'.
It's been ages since I had to wear proper shoes for work, but Cheaney are another slightly-cheaper-but-not-shit option
Don't forget that it is illegal to wear brogues south of Euston Road unless you are visiting Harley Street.
Jones Sherwoods were last available in 1998, they should come round again before 2009, worth waiting for. I'm hoping they bring them back in 2007 as one of my pairs is getting a little close to 'best use only'. If you have to have some now, Jones are a good bet but the leather is a bit thin at the moment. I did buy some Barkers last year but I'm not prepared to recommend them before 2008 - they are dearer than Jones. Churches I look at and wonder about the price, they look a bit glossy to me. There must be plently available from dead people, the problem is - how to access the supply. John
said... I've got a couple of pairs of Churches shoes that are pretty much the only shoes I've worn to work for the last 13 or so years... They need resoling every so often, but other than that they last forever. Really top quality kit.
