  2. Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique,
"These 998cc versions were made to homogenize the model for racing
    purposes"

Is that where the blended styling came from?

Anyone who refers to a machine as 'she' (or 'he' for that matter)
deserves to be fucked up the arse with a wooden tent peg.

I saw that too. My guess is £4.5-5k.

I tried for a sporting punt on item 270218316196, and got the highest
bid but not reserve. I reckon that plonker in the Q&As at the bottom
    queered the pitch.

Still, you never know, the seller might get back to me with an offer.
    It's happened before.

    In
ISTR the guy who styled the Katana also had a hand in styling the original
K100, there is a sort of styling resemblence around the seat / tank /
    sidepanel interface

I don't think so. Hans Muth/Target Design was responsible for the
Katana, yes, and also the little fairing on the BMW R65LS, but I don't
think he had any involvement in the Ks.

That's the guy, I have a book about the K series somewhere and I'm sure it
    mentions it in there.

  12. It says the styling was inspired (a bit) by Muth. And then it says it
    was 'Muth-styled'. So it's a bit self-contradictory.

I was on the original launch of that bike - I remember the (late
lamented) Stefan Pachernegg well, and no way was it presented as a Muth
    styling job.

In fact, that book is the only refernce I can find to Muth having
anything to do with the Ks, and without trying to sound too arrogant, if
it's saying he styled the bike, it's wrong.

Mind you, the influence of the Katana was massive, and it's certainly
fair to say the BMW shared some styling elements.
