Terrible night's kip last night, a whole day of deep joy attempting to
beat a Tuxedo system into submission, and a taxi ride across Bangalore.

I figured I'd earned a bottle of decent wine. So I ordered one. Then Mr
Brain fluttered into life for a split second and pointed out that the
sommelier taking off *that* fast with a grin *that* wide might not be A
    Good Sign.

A swift recalculation later and I *just* caught him before the foil
    came off the bottle.

They do that, don't that.... the bastards.
Lucky! Rick (the American guy who I was out with) wasn't so quick at
the hotel bar.. 2 double jamesons, no ice... Thank you sir, that'll
    be $40 US.

For a minute I thought you might nearly have bought some god-awful pile
of Italian shite. Was the wine Italian?

    Exactly.

The really daft thing is he had a bottle of duty free upstairs.

There's nothing wrong with (most) Italian wine. Certainly, at the
more, eh, price-sensitive end of the market, it's better than French.

It's ok. That's for a double with mixer. Most places round here are
around 4.50 for that but the new Whetherspoons is nice and cheap.

I have an urge for a glass or so of Chianti Classico now.

Will this do? I know it's not red but its drinkable..

It would have done. Comfortably, I think. I *thought* it was 25 quid,
or thereabouts. I was out by a factor of ten, of course...
