the English ports that were supplying the English Army in America and
raiding the supply ships. It took up so much time of the British Navy
defeating the blockage and stopping the harassing of supply ships that
the Army ran out of their supplies of gunpowder and shot.

[1] The deal that was done with the French[2] for this help was later
reneged on by the colonials which p*ssed off the French some what.

[2] 'Cheese eating surrender monkeys[3]' with out whom the result should
have gone the other way.
