Don't they have some kind of problem with levers breaking?
    :p

I think you'll find Zebee was looking for a little more hooligan than
52kW and 165Kg. "Small light play bike" was the specification. Get the
power to weight ratio up to .4 or so and you might have a contender. Like
a Street Triple but without the price point. Or a KTM 400 without the
    seat height.

I reckon 52kw and 165kg would be right around my specification for
    Zebee's hooligan bike (maybe a touch over-powered).
I think she's after something a little less mainstream though.

(Hmm ... how about an SV650 stripped-down and fitted with a TTF2 Pantah
    fairing and seat?)

    How about a recumbent?

    probably. I like quirky bikes.

I suppose that before buying another I should whack a battery in the
Old Girl and see if I can get her going.

She is neither small nor light, and "hooligan" isn't really the word
for something that proceeds like a cruise liner, but still...

There was me naively thinking that the Paleolithic diet involved a
    substantial amount of cannibalism!

Human: the OTHER other white meat.

Shit, that must have been where I went wrong! I should have bought the
    1987 model!

(Why did it take me so long to notice?)

Aye, I'd rather fancy a proper recumbent too.

Those folk in Switzerland still making the BMW based beasties?
(Although you'd need to win Lotto three weeks in succession to afford one.)

I have vague recollections of folk in Britain, who used to build tiny
three wheeled "sports" <snigger> cars, using a two stroke motor
(Villiers?) driving the front wheel, with the whole shebang at the
front, wheel, motor and gearbox, being steerable.

Maybe modern technology might make this a viable proposition to make
into a front wheel drive, recumbent motorcycle?

Morgan used to make them with velo motors and rapide motors ( as if the
    v twin rapide was smallish)
couple of other companies including reliant and have done since the 1920's

It was actually the Bond Minicar, I was thinking of.

If they could get this to work, then surely the same principle could be
used for a front drive recumbent.

    Virago 535 ?

All of the pluses of the 250 without one of the minuses (IMNSHO) - ie
it has enough hp to pull you up a decent hill without having to find
    redline in first

RD350. It doesn't need to make sense. And think of how much fun you'll
    have finding a good one!
    Moike[/QUOTE]

I'm with Moike and Cam, the RD250/350 is the smart move knowing your
predilections - parts are still available, they go well and are
relatively unusual but they're not bum up and pegs 4" from your arse.
