Hmmm ? What episode have I forgotten ? The only time it went
stationary I can recall was when I stalled it at the lights and it
didn't want to restart first kick

Never gone bush on it - never even dropped it as far as i can recall

  3. Zebee's been riding a Norge, which makes 'small light play bike' relative.

    * 1200 cc to 650 cc meets the spec. When I started riding in the 1960s a
650 was about the biggest thing on the road. These days a 650 is a
    smallish bike.

    * 250 kgs to 180 kgs for the 2007-2009 Versys is heaps lighter,
    (current ABS model is heavier)

    * price for used models is in range,

    * Zebee said she was leaning to Motard but thought her feet wouldn't
touch the ground. The Versys is motard style and a lowering kit will
bring it in range for less than $200 (not $2,000 as she mentions). She
mentioned a KTM along the way in the thread, so the design is not too
    far off.

    * She also said 'sporting pretensions but only pretensions' and didn't
want an in-line four, once again the Versys fits here. It's not a sports
bike, but can keep up in the twisties.

You asked how my suggestion met the spec. Seems to match it pretty well
    from over here.

She also said it had to handle 50km transport sections. The Versys is a
good city commuter because the tallish stance and upright riding
position gives a good view ahead.

Anyway, I don't see Zebee dissing the suggestion so far.

My other play bikes are an XT500 and a 450 Ducati single. I consider
those "small and light" and the Norge a mucking great tank.

  5. Was trying to recall this thread.

I've got a Suzuki GR650 sitting in my yard at the moment that I'm
storing for a mate who wants to sell it.

Don't know how much he wants for it, forgot to ask, but he'll be
around tonight and I can have more details then.

Isn't that an oxymoronic statement, kind of like "too much beer"?

Too much beer can make you fall down and hurt yourself.
I'm currently paying rego on three cars, one motorcycle, two trailers,
and a caravan. The ride-on mower, the tractor, the BSA and the quad
    bike aren't licenced.

The problem is obvious. Three *cars* and only one motorcycle? I mean
    really!

    Why?

As far as I can figure out, you wouldn't be seen dead on a motorcycle
unless it has 200+ hp, and who's going to lend you one of them

Ooops, sorry Kev..... I started to comment, then thought better of it,
and then, managed to click the wrong button.... hence no question mark,
    smiley or signature.

Oldtimers disease sneaking up on me... :-(

  13. :)

I'd seriously take anything for a ride at the moment. But this thing
isn't registered either, so by the time I find a helmet that will
actually fit me, etc, etc it gets too hard so I am just going to have
to wait and do it properly.

And you are right, it would probably just frustrate me anyway.

I've never had more than one motorcycle at a time. They get jealous
    and make me feel guilty.

One trailer is for attachment to a car, the other trailer is for
attachment to a motorcycle. Which one should go?
You think I should sell my wife's car and the 67 Mercedes project and
    just keep the ute?
Are you not married, or are you mad?

The Morgan yes, the Bond nononono! It was a noisy, smelly, unstable pile
of pus, even when relatively new. From memory, it and the Hillman Husky
were two of the very few carsabout the only car that generated a 10 on my
arbitrary 'travel sickness induction scale'. Morgans were commonly seen
with JAP engines. Several of the ones round Liverpool when I was a kid had
HRD or Vincent badging and were seriously quick. The 800 Messerschmitt was
no slouch either and was still technically classified as a 3 wheeler
despite its 2 close coupled rear wheels.
