Has anyone successfully downloaded the Ikea catalogue?

What's the point? They don't do mail order.

Well I didn't know that but at least I wouldn't have to spend any time in
    their insufferable showrooms.

If you live relatively close to one of their showrooms they should pop
    one[1] through your letterbox.

    1. A catalogue that is.

    Yes you would.

You look in the catalogue to find what you want. Then you go to the
showroom and weave your way through the thick cunts to find the stuff
you already saw in the catalogue, because to find the stuff in the
self-service warehouse you need to find the stuff in the showroom to
    get the warehouse location.
And then you have to make your way through the pikey market hall full
of 50p trinkets to get to the warehouse, load up a cart with furniture,
pay for it, and then queue up for the home delivery desk to hand over
thirty quid for some bloke to drop it off at your gaff.

And all that depends on whether they even have what you want in stock.
Which they probably don't. And the only way you can find out is to
waste a morning/afternoon at the store finding out for yourself.

Trouble is they are generally cheap and good quality.

Indeed it will be a fine kitchen when the walls are plastered and units
built, but although I plan never to pass through their doors again I have
no objections to SWMBO spending the day there.

  11. unless they think 40 miles or so is close...we got one the other day,
too. Thing is, it's that long since we last went, I've almost
forgotten how bad the experience was...nice TV table in there...

    Top tips
    1. Go late on a weekday evening. Its quieter.
    2. If you want to go straight to the warehouse bit then walk through the
    trolley return corridor.
    3. Better still find a shop that puts customer care above making sure their
    staff have an easy life.

Last time I looked at the website you could check the stock
availablity at your nearest store. Finiding it once you get there is
of course a different matter, as is leaving with only what you came
    for..

    No, don't get curtains!

I mean, I know I don't get down Cheltenham way very often these days, but
it's always nice to know I could pop by any evening and _see_ you.

If you absolutely must get curtains can you at least get a web-cam as well?

Ok, just for you, when I've finished repainting I'll install a cam in
    the corner of the room...
