Heh, no... now I've burned all my ties and got a mohican. :)
Can you still get spares for it?
80 on a scooter, I'd think that takes some balls to do. Once, I went in
a scooter sidecar outfit. Sitting on a small plastic chair that looked
like is used to belong in a class room, getting air round corners when
the whole strange contraption bounced off curbs was the most interesting
experience I've had on 2 and a bit wheels.

I've always wanted a rat scooter outfit like this one, and may even get
shot of one of my bikes to do it.
Err.. some bloke down the pub I never go to told me, honest.

has another that hes apparantly doing some modifications to.
apparantly theres also a way to get a maico 440 crosser engine in there!!!!

LOL, funny i was thinnking of going down the skinhead route and saving a few
    bob :)
Yep, but some are repro and have to be sourced in america, others rely on
people who know people here in the uk or in germany.
    I can imagine!!
I was doing just shy of 70 last august on the way to the isle of wight rally
and a bloke on a tuned TS1 225 went past like we were standing still!! Im
sure he had to be doing 90!! well 80 easily!
:) I like the scooters, dont get me wrong, i like "proper" bikes too but

    a) im too much of a tight pikey to afford one and the running costs
    and
    b) I'd shite myself doing what the majority of you would call proper speeds!
Was the the fella that lives next to the fella that works down the chip shop
    and thinks he's elvis? :)

  6. The Rumi (125 cc) used to do 80, and that was in the '50s. Lovely little
    engine, and a magnesium frame.

Aye. Forgot how juicy they could be.

I had a revved up Cortina lump that did 17mpg if I didn't thrash it.
Should suit your style, I mean the Volvo was too much for you, wonnit.
    :)

  8. Now that could be interesting. Because if you can get one in there you
can do *lots* of things to the Maico 440 engine for competition work.

Taking the clippers and 'resetting' again is easy, or growing it out.
    Like I said, big balls.
2 wheels is all fun imho, no matter what form they come in.
Well, I'm now a pikey student... maybe that's why I'd like a scoot for a
laugh. ;) I never seem to get out of 3rd of 4th round here on the
Bandit. A 2 stroke would be a hoot round town, hmm... swap a scoot for
    an FZR250RR. ;)

Thanks - earmarked for looking at.

One of my mates had a Rumi back in the '60s, and then a Vincent Comet.

I reckon the Comet handled a *LOT* better than the big 'uns.
