anyways, he's found the wallet - turns out he actually had just lost
it, in a cab, rather than getting it lifted, and - amazingly - the
    cabbie has returned it.

It's possible that the "I have friends with Semtex" T-shirt has a
    bearing, too.

Yebbut, some of those moths probably haven't been seen since the
    Pleistocene.

I mean, they've *got* to be worth a bob or three, surely?

It's always amusing (after a fashion) to see the tourists walking around
with their expensive cameras hanging off their necks, or sitting on the
terrasse of cafés with the expensive equipment just waiting on their table,
    to be nicked.

I suppose the insurance companies get their whack out of it, though.

I've been pickpocketed once. In Glasgow. Whilst busking. I made 30p from
singing, and had £10 stolen in my wallet.

  8. Actually, I dropped it in the taxi that delivered me to my hotel on the
    Rambla.

And the star rang the hotel to say he had it and would drop it round
later. As I was going to be at a press call then, I left him 40 euros
sealed in an envelope, at reception.

And when I got back to the hotel and recovered my wallet, I found he's
given me two taxi receipts for the 40 euros.

    Barcelona taxi drivers rock.

You fuckwit. Did you have to go through all the hassle of getting a
temporary one or were you able to travel home on other documents?

Fortunately, I managed to track back and work out where I lost it. The
bar in question was my last stop before starting the cop shop and
    consulate route.

    Wasn't a fun 24 hours though.
