....just how stoopid would it be to buy a bike now with the intention of
outing the rest of the fleet in the spring when the weather warms up?

It's just I've seen something I rather like that might take the place of
    the entire existing fleet.

As an aside, looking at the completed auctions tab on ebay, the
Sportsters that have sold in the last 2-3 weeks seem to be making better
money than they were last summer.

What bike are you thinking of buying? A Sportster? HD prices are
pretty much immune to the normal depreciation rates. For anything
else, I'd normally say yeah, go for it, but this time I can't help
thinking that used bike prices have got further to fall.

On the same vein, I'm looking for a new motor next year, so I'm hoping
I can get a good deal on a Lexus next year (after seeing Toyota's
    announcement in the news today).

Failing that, I'll probably end up with an Espace.

    No, item 130274682934.

The Sportster, the RT and the Zed would go. Well, that's the plan.

I considered an R1150R before buying the Zed and suspect it might have
    suited me better.

That said, T's just told me that I'm not considering another bike...

FFS. A BMW. A *modern* BMW at that.
The woman has the right of it on this occasion.

Looking at the detailed pics, it needed to be under £2k for me to be
    interested.

    It went over 2K.

I'm due for something new in May, not really thought a bout how much I
want to spend yet, but if the market is still shit I might get a good
deal on my company cage, which is hardly used really with <40K on the
    clock.

Likewise. My cage is 4 years old and I've only done 42k km on it. It's
'cos I use my bike 90% of the time.
