Initiating a non-rider

  1. Hi all

We have a friend who just turned 30, and for ages she has wanted to go
pillion, but for several reasons neither of us felt confident enough to take
her. So, for her birthday, we got her a 1-hour Harley ride (with
All-American I think) and souvenir t-shirt. We tagged along for the ride
today, and I don't think she lost the grin for the whole hour! We went over
Mt Cotton and home via Redland Bay, so the ride was sedate enough to be
cruisy, with a couple of slighty faster moments, but not enough to scare the
    newby.

Kudos to Peter, the rider (and owner of the business) who was just lovely
(and tolerant of us clicking photos, shooting video etc etc etc), the bike
was impressive, comfie, a nice big screen (so the bugs between the teeth
were kept to a minimum), shiny and well-maintained. And the weather was
perfect, and for a change the traffic wasn't too bad either.

Biggest downside is I don't think we'll hear the end of this for a while...
;-) But after we dub the video and print the photos, she should be happy
for a bit! Good grief, what are we going to get her when she hits 40?

  4. Tiger Moth's are fun :)

But for the ultimate bike in the sky thing try a powered hang glider
(commonly called a trike). Have a look here.

  5. Well, we _were_ thinking of pushing her out of a plane.............. ;-)

I told her she needs to find herself a boyfriend with a Harley!

hehe.. my first ever trip to Brisbane, 1978 ish, Thin Lizzy, Wah-Koo
(David Palmer from the original Steely Dan) and The Sports played a
free concert in the botanic gardens
Phil Lynott: "Are there any girls out there with a bit of Irish in them?"
wait for response...slight pause "Are there any girls who'd like a bit
    more?"
