    Anyone used:

    The Policy Shop
    Express Insurance
    Hastings Direct

    ?

They're the three cheapest for me on the GSXRs renewal.

And is it just me, but have excesses gone up something silly? I used
to have a 500 quid excess on the GSXR, but Bennetts have ramped that
up to 750 and all the quotes I'm getting now are 600 quid plus.

    No and no
Yes, for a few years. They seemed fine, though I never needed to claim
    during that time.
    Umm, probably.

    Yes.

Ok, payout smartish when claim is made, but really take the piss on
    renewal afterwards.

I've been with Hastings for ages. But I've never had to claim so that's not
really much use. They can be a bit silly about some inclusions and
exclusions. Frinstance when I passed my test but was on the limited to 33
bhp stage, I could only ride my bike yet my wife, who only had a car licence
and had never taken the CBT, could ride any moped she liked.

    Rusted and ropy.
    Dog-eared old copy.
    Vintage and classic,
    or just plain Jurassic:
    all words to describe me.

They have on the screenscraper quotes, yes.
    I'm accustomed to a £100 compulsory excess, with a £200 voluntary to
drop the premium to close to the ton. All the comparison sites were
quoting cheap premiums but excesses ranged from £450 to £750. Of
course, when you go to firm up the quote and get down to the nitty
gritty, you can get them to pare the excess a bit, but your premium
will creep up too. Pays your money ....

I'm sure it was Hastings Direct who, when I asked them about fitting a
race can to whatever bike I had at the time, gave a reply along the
    lines of "so what?"

    Which was nice.

Well, the nice man from the Policy Shop is going to call me back in a
bit. If I can get the excess down and determine if it's got CIHAGM
cover, then they'll get the business.

Well, they left the excess high, but given everyone else was similar,
    it doesn't really matter.

And frankly, I think full comp [1] on a GSXR1000 K8 for 260 quid is
    fucking bargain.

[1] Inc euro cover, CIHAGM, pillion and commuting.

    @4ax.com:

did you try an online quote first?

My house insurance is due for renewal soon and their wanky website does not
work. Tried IE & Firefox. Some "javascript" button does not work.

Oh well, move along to the next. gocompare have given a quote for £88 from
Budget. Quidco are offering a £45 cashback. Be good if I can combine the
    two offers...

Confused.com first off, then another on their website directly, which
came out cheaper. Then final go through on the phone with them.
Worked fine in Safari on my Mac. Not often you get to say that :)
