    Hi folks,

No, not the usual insurance question.

I'm looking for a Travel Insurance deal.

I booked flights for Angie and myself to europe at Flight Centre.

They offered "their" travel insurance, which, upon close examination
would only cover riding a motorcycle of upto 200cc capacity, and then,
only if the driver had a full Ozzie licence.

Now this insurance deal makes a point of covering ballooning, bungy
jumping and parachuting, but, obviously over 200cc motorcycles are to
    risky to them. :-|

So, has anyone any recommendations for travel insurance mobs?

    regards,
    CrazyCam

Google threw me at travelinsurancedirect.com.au their PDS is here...
    http://www.travelinsurancedirect.com.au/policywording.htm

The only exclusion related to motorcycles states that the rider must
have an appropriate licence for the bike being ridden.

  7. Cam, I always use "Toursafe" travel insurance put out by AIG for my
IoM TT Tour groups. According to the agent through whom I arrange it,
it covers any sort of motorcycle.

Can send you an application form if you'll email your postal address.

    Kind regards

    Mondial is the main one.

Most of the others that do it are underwritten by Mondial.

Other cheap mob that does it is http://www.worldnomads.com

They cover most higher risk activities.

Thanks for the offer Dave, but I think I'll probably just go with the
    mob Nev found.

If the truth be known, it is very unlikely that I'll rent a bike in
Greece anyway, but it pissed me off that the Flight Centre's insurance
mob took such a pathetic attitude to the risk.

I've seen the rental bikes in a few places in Greece, and, while they
aren't to my taste, I'd rather be on a H-D or BMW, that is maintained,
in good nick and has decent tyres, than riding one of the wee el-cheapo
100cc thingies they rent on the islands.

And, no, I'm not taking the Z50 as cabin baggage. :)

Used them a few times (bike trips) now, no probs. Also for daughter's O/S
    longterm stays.
    Again no probs.
Any claims we've had (all minor stuff), no probs.
And yes, we checked them out THOROUGHLY, called, faxed, emailed them with
specific questions, they've always come good for us.
Just took out 8 policies with them for all those on next year's Euro-Alps
    Ride,
used them for last years NZ-trip...
Can only recommend them. Pricing is VERY competitive...and they're backed by
    a global mob, not a 5-layer-deep re-insurer crowd.

    cheers

it looks like its got to do with what policy you are talking out

WORLDWIDE - includes USA, Hawaii, Canada, South America, Japan, China,
Hong Kong, Africa & Middle East
    EUROPE & UK
ASIA excludes Japan, China & Hong Kong & Bali
PACIFIC - includes South-west Pacific, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea,
    Bali & Norfolk Island
    AUSTRALIA

"Worldwide" apparently. Their "Asia" policy doesn't cover HKSAR
or PRC (the bits of Asia that I travel to most).

GB, HKSAR again, as usual, and Shenzhen this year, for a bit of
    a look-see.
