In the midst of confusion as I was yesterday, I undertook a
    screenscraper insurance comparison, with thebikeinsurer.co.uk.

Completely out of the blue, an email appeared offering a free Legal
Cover policy. It would normally cost £25, but for the pain of filling
in the form, it came for nothing. It may be of no use to many, but if
you're about to renew your insurance, it could save you adding such
cover ... at the cost of £25.

    It says:

"If you have an accident then this policy gives you free access to:

A recovery service for you and your motorcycle
    Repair of your motorcycle
    Hire of a replacement motorcycle
Up to £50,000 of legal cover to cover the costs of seeking compensation
    from the party at fault
A 24/7 freephone service to report your accident"

Seems like quite a decent deal - for nothing. I'll be hanging on to
    the details.

I got an email from them earlier. A newsletter-type thing from where I
got the George White helmet offers link.

Anyway, I don't think I've ever used their website - I always use
    confused.com.

possibly - some insurers don't give you the option to unbundle the legal
cover. Carole Nash & Ebike being two.

I think I must have at least 4 separate legal fees policies running at
the moment. The free one you mentioned, the one from CNash on the bike,
the Lloyds TSB (Churchill) one on the car and an AA one with the house
insurance. I had one from CSMA too, until they introduced an annual
    membership fee of £15
