Now that sounds like a good idea. I'll join ya.
Cheers Theo.
Yeah, he's right next to me here. I'll slap him across the head for everyone, nice and hard. *slap* Aw shit, sorry, different Steve. Bastard deserved it anyway.
<chuckle> Luckily for me there's no other bastard stupid enough to be at work after 3 on a friday, so I can laugh out loud without having to explain it. Moike
3pm on a Friday? Wow. Must be a government job. Department of Late Arrival, Early Departure and Long Lunching (D.L.A.E.D.L.L.) I think my brother works there. He just texted me "waaaaaaaaaa" which usually means he's on the piss.
University, 'flexible hours'. I finished at 9pm last night, 7pm on tuesday and 9 pm on Monday. No overtime. I'll spend most of this weekend correcting stuff. Many of the students engineer their timetable to have friday free, so lots of staff don't have classes that day and use it as a 'work from home' day. Moike
GB, we lads have been noticing of late that you are becoming very bitter. Now, seeing we are sort of mates, can we help you in any way? Do you need Smee beaten up? Maybe if we cut Gs's guzzi bra and turn it into a bmw? Maybe you need a bex and a good lay down? - Just let us know mate - I am sure the lads will rally to your cause ;P Johno Coopers?
At work *already* at 3 on a Friday? Man, I didn't arrive at work yesterday (Friday) until quarter to five (nominally 9-5 job too!). Lectured 6pm to 9pm though. Gawd that's hard on a Friday night, the students all want to go "home"[1] at 7:00. GB [1] Young people's euphemism for "pub".
What makes you think *we* get to choose? I got the dreaded Friday night this semester, and Tuesday night (no more Tuesday Night Rides for me :-( ) next semester. Didn't get a choice. Got good classrooms though. GB
Yes, yes, I think that would definitely cheer me up. When you start in on him, just let him know "And this one's from Schapelle" <WHAM> because I know Smee enjoys the conversations about Schapelle in the group and in IRC. Nah, I'm an uncultured heathen. VB thanks. GB, rhymes with VB
Folk wisdom says that no one ever learns anything after 2.00 pm on a Friday. Moike (it's 15 years since I was teaching in Tech Schools; I still shudder on a hot, windy, friday afternoon...)
What did you do to piss your boss off? I really cant remember the last time I had to work a Friday at all. Al
I dunno. My boss is also SWMBO. Beggar for punishment, aren't I! Actually it's probably more a case of me being new at this university malarky. I take what I'm given and I shut up like a good little n00b. Well, for what its worth, I really don't do very much on the other days! GB
I got a surprise recently from Shannons (you know - the mob the Goggo-Mobile-Man advertises on every Channel 10 motor sport broadcast). For me I ended up saving about $300/year by switching from QBE to Shannons. But I'm +30, no convictions, no infringements, no accidents, no claims, Mr Goodie-two-shoes with a 3yr old ZX9R that's alarmed, diisk-locked and shut away in the garage. Shannons may not be suitable for everyone as they don't do insurance for vehicles used commercially (at all) and really ask a LOT of questions about where/when/how you ride and who with. On the up side though, if you only take your pride-and-joy out on weekends, there are extra discounts available for infrequent usage etc. Cheers, James ZZR250->ZX9R
Oh come on Mr Goodie Two Shoes.. you don't think we've forgotten the time you held your throttle at redline in front of a cop right after pinged you for excessive noise do ya? It was only 18 months ago. Nev.. '03 ZX12R
Not denying it - proud of it in fact (go fugg yourself senior cuntstable Brown of Dapto Hwy Patrol!). Thing is, it was a zero-point ticket so I'm not required to inform my insurer. The ticket you allude to was issued under "Protection of the Environment 2000 - Noise regulations" and was for operating a vehicle on *private* property with excessive noise (IIRC section 11 - MadBiker...can you look that one up?). But I was on a public road.....shrug. Either way, no points - no need to tell. But you already knew all that didn't you Nev...you just like stirring the pot Cheers, James ZZR250->ZX9R
