I use Western QBE, 27yo, license for 12months, Rating 1, BMW K100LT, market
value and only charged me $300 a year for full comp.

Different bikes have different insurance risk profiles. If expensive
insurance is a problem, but you want your bike to be insured, find out
which bikes are in which risk categories and buy a bike from a low risk
category and your insurance will be much more reasonably priced.

  3. At the time I insured with Western QBE they were the cheapest by a long
way. When I had to make a claim they were quick and caring. YMMV.

I wouldn't have thought my bike was a high risk. Got it insured for an
agreed value today with QBE and happy with quote thank God (1st one was
    almost $1200)

Many thanks for all your input, sarcasm and wit ;)

Karen passing the beer around freely but definately not a wench

Unless it's a shaft drive tourer type bike then it's probably medium or
high risk. Something like a BMW R850 would be low risk with most
    insurance companies.

QBE quoted me $520, RACWA wanted $4200. SGIO said $2400 with a straight
    face.

if i recall their was some goverment law preventing them from punishing
people who had made insurance claims.

so they dont punish them but reward others which havnt :)
