"bio-lubricants"? Pussy juice? -- platypus "Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative."
""If we can build a high-performance car that can virtually be grown from seed, just imagine what's possible for the average family car."" At last, the potato car; available from Spud-U-Like Motors.
If they made biodegradable racing cars that start to degrade after an hour or so of use, I might consider watching Formula 1 again.
Yeah, slightly before my F1-watching time, but I know that's around the sort of time that Tyrell made their 6-wheeled car and Brabham had a car with a big "hoover" underneath it to create downforce. Must've been interesting to watch, I'll have to look out for some races on ESPN. They showed the 1965 Monaco GP a week or two ago; Jackie Stewart was the young upstart threatening Graeme Hill's domination. And Surtees' Ferrari ran out of fuel on the last lap. Bloody great it was.
One of the teams (Honda?) are doing some demonstration laps there next month. I doubt they'll be anywhere near racing speed, but it'll still be more exciting than modern-day F1. That & the 'driver aids' such as sequential boxes & traction control. It's impossible for a driver to miss a gear going into a bend anymore, or spin the wheels up & exit a bend sideways. Aye, they don't even bother trying to close gaps anymore unless there's a pit stop imminent. On the plus side, you can't beat an F1 'race' for sending you off into a nice Sunday afternoon nap. -- Krusty www.MuddyStuff.co.uk Off-Road Classifieds '02 MV Senna '03 Tiger 955i '96 Tiger '79 Fantic Hiro 250

That's pretty damned impressive. I like the shot just before the end with the car getting about 2ft of air over a crest. It certainly hammers home how comparitively dull modern F1 has become. ESPN Classic (Sky ch 442) this Saturday night is showing F1 footage from 1969 and 1970. Annoyingly though, they seem to have stopped showing classic bike races for the time being. Yup, that's defintely Stewart's commentary.
