I think the speed looks legit but I also think that gear indicator is out by
    one.
He gets close to 300 in 5th gear. I've never ridden a ZX-10R but that gear
indicator looks very much like a home made job and from what I've read about
ZX-10R gearing it seems one gear out all the way through.
Even if the gearing has been changed it won't change the relationship
    between gear and indicated speed.

Yar, sounds like a much better idea than the current system. Means you can
change gearing and the speedo won't be affected, and should be more precise
from the word go you'd think. Atleast a nice linear error if there is one.

I find that "plonk" is often a very good answer!
    Knob
(...and after a bottle-or-two you don't even remember what the question
    was!)

Hardy's range (Chardy, Merlot, and Cab-Sav, not much of a range) is good,
quite nice wines, and as you say, easy on the insides. But they're $13-
$16 a bottle, a bit of an extravagance for me. I haven't seen any others.
    Suggestions welcome.
    Now there's a good suggestion!
As distinct from 11.5%, which does? This doesn't make sense to me. Even
retsina, the wicked Greek wine flavoured with pine resin (used as a
preservative thousands of years ago), has mass-produced chemical
    preservative(s).
Anyone else have info, please share!

The story about the pine resin in retsina goes like this.....

The Greeks had just finished a really good grape harvest.
They had lots of wine stored away.

    Then the Turks started invading.

The Greeks (well some of them) thought:"Hey, the Turks will drink all
    our wine."

Some bright spark then suggested:"Let's pour some of this pine resin
into the barrels. It'll make the wine taste so bad that the Turks won't
    both drinking the wine."

The Greeks promptly did as suggested, and it worked.

The Turks didn't like the wine.

Of course, it took quite a few years for the Greeks to get the hang of
drinking the stuff, but, there wasn't anything else close handy, so they
persevered and learnt to drink it.

LOL You twit. You can be sure all you like, doesn't change the fact that the gear indicator is
    showing 5th.

Problem is I hate taking any type of drug for the allergy.
It's more a case of a combination of things which is triggered by red wine.
I can live it I'd rather drink bourbon.
Thanks for all the replies fellas.

You did just rewind it to somewhere where you can clearly read the gear
indicator, and then count the gear changes didn't you?

Good story (I don't mind a dram of retsina myself), but that wasn't
thousands of years ago, that was well after the Crusades.

"The earliest of these neolithic finds were six nine-litre jars embedded in
the floor of a mud brick building, dating from 5400-5000 BC, in the
community of Hajji Firuz Tepe in the northern region of the Zagros
mountains. These vessels contained not only the residues appropriate to
grape juice but also bore deposits of resin. Resin from the terebinth tree
that grew wild in the region was widely used as a preservative in ancient
wine because it has the ability to kill certain bacteria, and tree resin
(generally pine) is still used in Greek retsina wine."
