So why did you say it?
Check the posted link. You're doing a remarkably good job of showing yourself to be a liar.

You will note that I have pointed out that the deportations to the
death camps didn't happen until well into 1942 for the simple reason
that they weren't built until then. I have merely pointed out that the
French collaborated in the preliminary round-ups, arrests, etc. The
    deportations came later.
Precisely. I referred to the arrests by Frenchmen of Frenchmen, not
the arrests by German troops of Frenchmen, for the simple reason that
there were no German troops occupying that part of France until nearly
1943. Of course, Des chose to ignore that.

    'Unoccupied
So we do agree it was unoccupied now, then. Well, that's a start.

Post a link that shows someone agreeing in this thread, then. Come to
that, post a link proving that there was no such thing as unoccupied
France prior to late 1942, and post a link proving that French
civilians didn't round up Jews in aforesaid unoccupied part of France.

I mean, I've been good enough to post a link proving that you said
bombing the ovens (not the railway tracks) would have shortened the
war. It's only fair to reciprocate.

(I'll not hold my breath, mind)

Mental illness, is my best guess. It's a bit worrying that he's in
charge of children, really. Still, at least he's not coaching
    tennis....

At the risk of picking nits, the quotes I used refer to "refugee Jews"
and "foreign refugees", so possibly not including French nationals
(until after November 1942 in Vichy at least). Perhaps in Des's mind
    that makes it OK?

"However, when deportations began in 1942, the Vichy authorities made
determined efforts to protect French Jews from deportation, while
leaving the Nazis free to do as they liked with nationals of other
    countries and stateless refugees."

    http://www.deathcamps.org/reinhard/deportfrance.html

As to the fact that Vichy was unoccupied until November 1942, you have
the right of it. Even the UK appear to have recognised Vichy as the
    government of France until Mers-el-Kébir.

Des will say it was a puppet government, but the status of Vichy from
the armistice in 1940 until November 1942 is unique however you look at
    it.

Everybody else just wishes he'd stop pursuing a hopeless argument.
There are no winners here, but everyone being subjected to repeating
    futile arguments is a loser.

TOG, you've made your point - you caught out the ikike, like that's
difficult, and you then rubbbed his nose in it. Please consider just
fucking leaving it alone now, eh?

How terribly (and unsurprisingly) short-sighted of you. The Jewish
aspirations to the Holy Land predate the Second World War and predate even
the time when Islam came into being. The State of Israel almost certainly
wouldn't have been created in 1948, but it would have been created.
There would have been Islamic terrorism. Not directed against Israel, of
course, but the oil in that part of the world would still have created the
tensions and the wars that we see now. Blaming Israel is just an
anti-Semitic (or perhaps I should say 'arabist') gimmick to cover their
    tracks.

Come now, TOG. Des was speaking French and reading this country's history
before you'd even seen your first map of the South of the English Channel.

    Do try harder.

I didn't see the posted link. Did I write that it 'would have' or that it
    'could have' ?

Genuine question, 'cos I don't recall.

You don't understand, TOG. I don't _need_ to 'post a link'. That's what
I've been trying to get you to see. I don't need to post a link to 'the
web', because I know this country's history far better than you will ever
hope to, should you be fortunate enough to live for another five centuries.
I know it because I live here, because I'm French and because I have
studied it extensively. You, on the other hand, are a Little Engländer who
couldn't argue his way out of a wet paper bag.
I didn't see that URL. Would you be so kind as to repost it?
    No, do...

Because he's addicted to posting bollocks on usenet.
I usually try really hard to avoid simply dismissing Des as an idiot
because I don't think he is one but this time I think he's letting
    himself down badly.

Do you really believe that people blame Israel for the current state
of affairs in the Middle East?

Here's a question for you to think about:

Would Israeli troops be sent into action if a war ever started in
Europe? If not then why the **** should we care what happens to
    Israel?

The world and yes, UKRM. The anti-Semites here on UKRM are just like the
anti-Semites in the world at large: when something happens in the Middle
East, it's either Israel's fault or if they can't claim that Israel started
it, they'll just consider that Israel 'got what it deserved'.

    http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/909917.html

... is but one example. I've seen polls where Palestinians express their
belief that the Gaza coup by Hamas, was engineered by Israel. The comments
on UKRM concerning the war last Summer were a revelation: Israel's
territorial integrity was violated by an armed paramilitary group tied to
Syria and to some elements in the Lebanon's ruling party, and an Israeli
citizen was kidnapped at the point of a gun. What was the reaction?

'**** the Israelis. **** them right between the eyes'.

    Erm, excuse me?

Israel has bent over backwards in recent years to give back land, and every
single one of her concessions is met with more rockets from the Arabs, and
    more anti-Semitism from the West.
Complete _non sequitur_ as I wasn't suggesting that European troops be sent
to fight in the Middle East. In case you've missed it, I've been one of
this newsgroup's most vehement opponents of the illegal war in Iraq.

A bit less anti-Semitism would be nice, and a bit more education which
would perhaps prevent the idiots in real life and here on UKRM from buying
into the outrageous libel that Israal 'stole Arab lands', when in fact
there _were_ no such things as 'Arabs' when the Jews were forcibly expelled
from their lands, and there are _still_ no such things as 'Palestinians',
despite the world and his wife buying into this Big Lie propogated by the
band of Egyptian and Jordanian murderers.
