    What's with the increasingly common broadcasting of police interview
    footage following conviction?

    Is this a new thing and what's the point?

    It appears so, yes. I guess it's because they have to fill the gaps
    between Strictly Come Dancing with something.

    Cheap TV innit. There are whole cable TV channels seemingly devoted to
    nothing else. SWMBO seems to watch them a lot, in fact talking to
    friends it seems that women seem to watch police progs on TV a lot.
