Just a heads up for anyone bobbing over in the next week or so.

Even BEFORE the temp speed limits are in place there has been some areas
extended - notably is Ballahutchin, its now a 40 until about halfway up
(presumably due to the blind dip), and the entry to Ballaugh is now a 40
further back than it used to be.

The normal restrictions from Kates to Douglas will be in place, what out
for speed traps at Brandish, lots of bikes get caught there, and also
the road between Sulby and Ramsey, its a 50 and there are a lot of blind
corners that plod seem to like to have a radar gun the other side of.

More worrying (from a fun point of view), is that I spotted the markers
that are down for coneing off the Mountain today. It looks like its
cones almost all the way to the Gooseneck, a lot further than it used to
be (this tends to be a 60 limit as well until past the Gooseneck).

But there are a lot more markers after the Veranda - time will tell, but
it looks a lot more than previous years.

Having done two laps in the work van today, it appears (although
probably not) that viewing is highly restricted. I dont understand why
in some spots, but you will have to find a good spot early or its likly
    to be taken.

Ill be out on the bike on Sat with a couple of mates and so will be able
to see how bad the mountain is,..

I'm glad I got over for the Centenary and a year or two before and
after, because it sounds like the Nazis have taken over the island.

Actually I suppose it was like Chile.....

    OK,

Went out yesterday, and its actually not that bad. Its coned to the
Waterworks and then open, but the 60 limit is right past the Gooseneck
and only opens up about 200 yards further on.

Its then open and unrestricted all the way to the straight bit before
The Bungalow - so what the markers are for round the Veranda I have no
idea. Its then open and free until the left hander before Kates Cottage.
Your then in a 50/40/60 until Brandish. There are also traffic lights at
    the Creg (good idea actually).

There are 4 unmarked police cars circulating all the time apparently,
and there was a speed gun between Ginger Hall and Ramsey (the bit where
the DOT buildings are). There are temp speed restrcition to look out for
(I forgot about the bit after Handleys, and was hooing, until I came
    across a derestrict sign :(

    Out of Douglas is normal.
Union Mills, to Crosby is now a 30 ALL THE WAY.
Its then a 50 all the way to Ballacraine.
    Normal 60 through Glen Helen.
Unrestricted to Handleys, and then a 60 to just before Kirk Micheal.
Normal roads then until Ramsey and then the restrictions as above.

And the one nobber I saw happened to be a local lad on a Motard.

Coned off? What do you mean? And why is it good to have traffic lights there?
It wasn't necessary twenty years ago when I last went, when there were more bikes about.

Coned as in the roads one way, but half the road is blocked off.

Ill use this as an excuse to post my vid again so you can see:

the lights are a good idea, as you can see round the bend going UP to
the creg, and it allows ppl to get to the slip road easily and safely,
as thats where the one way starts (or indeed, finishes).

20 years ago the road wasnt one way for 2 weeks now was it?

It shows what you meant by 'coned off'. Thanks.
Don't see the point of blocking half the road as well as making it one-way.
Did they get Brunstrom in as a consultant?
